Children's Choir

Our kids are currently part of a youth choir. It's a newly formed choir that operates within our neighborhood. When we first saw the recruitment notice, the kids signed up along with their friends out of a mix of curiosity and interest in singing.

Since it's a new group, the parents had to select and purchase each and every one of the uniforms and props. Thanks to the wonderful conductor and accompanist, the kids' first concert was a resounding success. The moms still can't forget how deeply moved they were by that first performance.

​

There have been changes in the choir members over the past year and a half, but by honing their skills during weekly practices, the kids have become a top-notch choir. This month, they will hold a concert celebrating the founding of the choir. I can't wait to see what beautiful harmonies will emerge from their lovely voices.

Pattern Practice

1. each and every one of : 하나하나 

 

The parents had to select and purchase each and every one of the uniforms and props.

다 부모들이 단복과 소품을 하나하나 다 정해서 구입해야 했다.

 

I washed each and every one of them by hand.

내가 그걸 하나하나 다 손으로 직접 씻었다.

 

I answered each and every one of the questions correctly.

​나는 하나도 빠짐없이 문제의 정답을 맞혔다.

 

2. a resounding success : 대성공 

 

The kids' first concert was a resounding success.

아이들은 첫 무대를 성공적으로 이뤄 냈다.

 

The project was a resounding success.

프로젝트가 아주 성공적으로 마무리됐다.

 

It took a long time to prepare, but dinner was a resounding success.

​준비하는 데 시간이 오래 걸렸지만, 저녁 식사는 대성공이었다.

 

3. top-notch : 최고 수준의

 

The kids have become a top-notch choir.

아이들은 훌륭한 합창단이 되었다.

 

I know a top-notch restaurant not far from here.

나는 여기서 멀지 않은 곳에 아주 좋은 음식점을 알고 있다.

 

That brand's products are all top-notch.

​그 브랜드 제품은 전부 최고의 성능을 자랑한다.

A : Do your kids participate in a choir?

 

B : Yes, it's a choir that was newly founded just last year.

 

A : Do they enjoy it?

 

B : They both love to sing their hearts out, so it suits them really well.
