• 전날 스크립트 낭독 (06:10~06:20)
• 본방송 스크립트 읽어보기 (06:20~06:40)

• 자기 전 낭독
• 주말 복습

Studying "입트영" Independently

 

I have been studying "입트영" on my own for three years. I wake up at 6 o'clock on the dot. Then, I recite the "입트영" dialogue. My principle is to memorize each day's dialogue on the day of. When the "입트영" broadcast starts, I get ready to take dictation. I have the textbook, but taking dictation helps me focus on the broadcast.

After the broadcast ends, I post an English expression from that day's program on my personal blog. I also choose one of the study group questions to practice writing in English. When my child goes off to school, I listen to the day's passage several times and practice reciting it out loud. Then, I copy the passage by hand and practice the dialogue until I know it backwards and forwards. If I haven't memorized it completely, I take a picture with my phone and continue memorizing it during my commute.

By perfectly memorizing the dialogues, I am enjoying the amazing experience of clearly understanding characters' lines when I watch TV shows or movies in English.

Pattern Practice

1. on the dot : 정각에

 

I wake up at 6 o'clock on the dot.

저는 6시 정각에 기상을 합니다.

 

They arrived at 7 o'clock on the dot.

그들은 정확히 7시 정각에 도착했다.

 

I rarely finish work right on the dot.

​나는 퇴근 시간에 딱 맞춰 일을 마치는 경우가 별로 없다.

 

2. go off to school :등교하다 

 

When my child goes off to school, I listen to the day's passage several times.

아이가 학교에 가면, 저는 본문을 여러 번 들어 봅니다.

 

After the kids go off to school, I usually rest for a few minutes.

아이들이 등교를 하면 나는 보통 몇 분간 휴식을 취한다.

 

I left for work right after our son went off to school.

​아들이 등교를 하자마자 나도 곧바로 출근을 했다.

 

3. know it backwards and forwards :완벽히 이해하다(외우다) 

 

I practice the dialogue until I know it backwards and forwards.

대화문을 완벽히 외울 때까지 연습합니다.

 

I've read that book so often that I know it backwards and forwards.

그 책을 어찌나 여러 번 읽었는지 이제는 낱낱이 외우다시피 알고 있다.

 

I can't understand the lyrics, but my daughter knows them backwards and forwards.

나는 가사를 못 알아듣지만, 딸아이는 완벽히 외우고 있다.

 

Dialogue Practice

A : I really like how you post proof of your English studies every day.

 

B : Yes, I started posting on social media because it's easy to lose motivation when | study alone.

 

A : It seems like you've been doing it for quite a while.

 

B : Yes, that's right. It's been almost two years now. I start my day by listening to the broadcast.

 

A : Wow! I really admire that.

 

B : It was hard at first, but l'm used to it now
