Language Exchange Apps

 

When I'm feeling bored, l often use a language exchange app as part of my English learning. Users from all over the world can use this app to learn the language they want and make friends online. It's a good way to learn English without getting stressed out.

Users sometimes ask people to go over their compositions, and teach their native language to others. Enthusiastic users sometimes set up voice chat rooms in the language they are learning to communicate with native speakers. Some even take excerpts from news articles and read them out loud.

​

Explaining Korean to foreigners in English turned out to be harder than you'd think. But thanks to these efforts, I'm killing two birds with one stone, improving both my English and Korean at the same time.

 

Pattern Practice

Users from all over the world can use this app to learn the language they want.

2. read something out loud : ~을 낭독하다, 소리 내서 읽다 

 

Some even take excerpts from news articles and read them out loud.

뉴스 기사에서 가져온 구절을 낭독하는 사람들도 있다.

 

You can memorize it more effectively if you read it out loud.

소리 내서 읽으면 더 효과적으로 암기할 수 있다.

 

I read the text out loud to improve my pronunciation.

3.  harder than you'd think :생각보다 어려운

 

Explaining Korean to foreigners in English turned out to be harder than you'd think.

한국어를 외국인에게 영어로 설명하는 것은 예상외로 만만치 않았다.

 

It looks easy, but it's harder than you'd think.

얼핏 쉬워 보이지만, 생각보다 어려운 일이다.

 

Using the device is harder than you'd think.

이 기기는 생각보다 사용법이 어렵다.
